Phyllo Rolls with Ham and Asparagus

An elegant recipe for an appetizer. Or substitute cooked, drained spinach for a tasty alternative.

Ingredients

1 package phyllo dough, thawed

8 thin slices of baked ham

4 oz. Dofino Havarti Cheese, thinly sliced

8 spears steamed green asparagus

1 tbsp. butter, melted

4 tbsp. balsamic vinegar

Methods

Unfold the phyllo dough and cut into 8 equal pieces. Cover with a wet towel to keep moist. Remove the towel and work with the pieces starting at one end. Place one slice of ham, one asparagus spear and one slice of cheese on each piece of phyllo dough. Sprinkle with balsamic vinegar and roll up tightly. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper with seam down. Brush the rolls with melted butter and bake in middle rack of the oven at 350° F until golden brown.
